沸石是沸石族礦物的總稱,，是一種含水的堿金屬或堿土金屬的鋁硅酸礦物。具有吸附性,、離子交換性,、催化和耐酸耐熱等性能。沸石分為天然沸石和活化沸石,。

      天然沸石是鋁硅酸鹽類礦物,，外觀呈白色或磚紅色，屬弱酸性陽離子交換劑,，經(jīng)人工導(dǎo)入活性組分,，使其具有新的離子交換或吸附能力，吸附容量也相應(yīng)增大,。主要用于中小型鍋爐用水的軟化處理,，以除去水中的鈣、鎂離子,，從而減少鍋爐內(nèi)水垢的生成,，減輕水測(cè)金屬的腐蝕，延長(zhǎng)鍋爐的使用壽命。在廢水處理中,，可用于除去水中的磷和鉛以及六價(jià)鉻,。失效后的沸石可用于濃鹽水逆流再生后重復(fù)使用。 

      活化沸石是天然沸石經(jīng)過多種特殊工藝活化而成,，二氧化硅含量達(dá)68%,，密度為0.75-1g/cm3 ，外觀為灰白色顆粒狀,。沸石活化后孔隙率顯著增加,，比表面積大幅提高，吸附能力成倍增加,，可達(dá)到甚至超過活性炭的吸附值,。而價(jià)格卻遠(yuǎn)低于活性炭，是活性炭的理想替代品,。

      天然沸石是一種新興材料,，被廣泛應(yīng)用于工業(yè)、農(nóng)業(yè),、國(guó)防等領(lǐng)域,，被用作離子交換劑、吸附分離劑,、干燥劑,、催化劑、水泥混合材料,。

      1,、在石油、化學(xué)工業(yè)中,，用作石油煉制的催化裂化,、氫化裂化和石油的化學(xué)異構(gòu)化,、重整,、烷基化、歧化,；氣,、液凈化、分離和儲(chǔ)存劑,；硬水軟化,、海水淡化劑；特殊干燥劑（干燥空氣,、氮,、烴類等）。
